See - A Long, Sleepy, Snowy Drive

Tuesday, November 26, 2013

We drove through snow and rain today to get to Pap and Joann's for Thanksgiving. It was a long ride but Harrison did great and we are grateful that we were able to get there safely!

Harrison at Forty-Six Weeks

Monday, November 25, 2013

This week was big for us - he took his first steps! He's been walking along the furniture like crazy but all of a sudden one day just turned and walked over to me. I couldn't believe it! Since then he's done it a few more times but mostly likes us to hold his hands when he walks. I know we'll be getting more and more steps soon and I'm excited and nervous. He's already getting into so much stuff!

Harrison likes to say "tickle, tickle" and explore making other sounds with his mouth.  He especially loves making new sounds with his tongue - it's so funny to watch him learn and repeat things he figures out. So excited for the weeks and months to come (and the years too!).

See - New Shelves

Sunday, November 24, 2013

I made some shelves for his room - they still need to be patched, sanded and painted, but he likes them so far!

Constantly crossing his feet - I love these little quirks.

See - Throwing A Tantrum

Tuesday, November 19, 2013

Harrison had an off day today and we had some wins and some losses. He took some first steps - a few times over! But he also threw his first few tantrums, which was kind of shocking to see out of the blue. I was taking some photos of him with an apple - and then his new chompers actually started to cut into it, so I had to take it away. He immediately freaked out and started cry/whine/loud grunting and shaking with anger that I took away his apple. Tears came immediately. I gave it back and he was instantly happy again. Let's hope this isn't a new thing that sticks around.

See - New Teeth

Monday, November 18, 2013

These two new top teeth totally change how he looks!  I can't get over it! Every time he grins I'm taken aback by how much older he looks - and so different!

Harrison at Forty-Five Weeks

Monday, November 18, 2013

We've got another new tooth this week! He looks so different with these 2 front teeth on top. I think we've got a fourth tooth coming in on the bottom soon too. He is growing up and is really looking so much older with teeth. Crazy how much it changes his appearance.

He learned to clap this week! It is so funny - all of the gestures and words he's learned have all come randomly, never when we're trying to get him to do it.  The other day I just looked over and he was clapping. Same with waving bye-bye! He's such a little sneak.

He is seriously going places now. He walks along any surface he can and goes from room to room.  He also scoots everywhere and I'm constantly sweeping/vacuuming to prevent him from eating dust bunnies and other gross stuff.  He is getting so fast - and when he's scooting on the bed he heads right for the edge and we've caught him every time before he goes over.  I know it's only a matter of time before he gets really hurt since he's a little daredevil.  I guess that's what you get with a boy!

We have had a lot of fun this week exploring things like snow and painting and new foods - he's loving waffles and chicken nuggets and peeled grapes.  I love getting to see everything through his eyes - showing him and sharing with him so many new things.

I can't wait for him to experience Thanksgiving in Baltimore with relatives and Christmas with all the shiny lights and wrapping paper and new foods. Love this boy!

See - Basement

Exploring and organizing the basement with dad.

See - Going Places

Saturday, November 16, 2013

He is scooting and walking along furniture and walls from room to room and starting to get into everything.  We are finding ourselves chasing after him - but he is loving his new mobility!

See - Ornament

Friday, November 15, 2013

I have been a bit of a grinch in years past - never really getting into the decorating and songs and festivities of Christmas. It is totally different with a kid - I'm so excited to show him everything and I can't wait to put up a tree and tons of decorations! He loooves getting into these shatterproof plastic ornaments. :)

See - A Colorful Morning

Wednesday, November 13, 2013

I let Harrison get a bit messy this morning with finger paint! He loved it and even used the brush! I wanted some handprints and then just let him loose with a few colors. Of course he immediately tried to eat the brush but wasn't interested after one taste. I love seeing his little handprint and his 'abstract' art. It's already hung in a gallery wall in his room!
