New Bike!

Monday, April 27, 2015

We lost a bike and gained a bike this week.  Jesse's bike was stolen the other evening, and in our quest to find it, we saw this adorable Schwinn tricycle on craigslist for a steal. We just had to add another blue Schwinn to our family. Harrison loves it and we are excited to teach him how to pedal and for all of our new adventures!

And an amazing thing to note is that Jesse had posted on the Raleigh Subreddit about the stolen bike and a former Raleigh resident who had recently moved to Australia offered an old blue Schwinn to Jesse to replace the stolen bike. :)

Bowling for the First Time

Saturday, April 25, 2015

We went on a family date to go bowling today! It was our April date from our "12 Dates in 12 Months." I thought it might be fun but honestly thought Harrison wouldn't be able to do much and we would probably bowl one game and head home.  On the contrary, Harrison LOVED it. We were shocked when he just grabbed ball after ball and put them up on the toddler ramp.  We had so much fun and will definitely go again. We went to a lane called "The Alley", which was very vintage and even had paper scoreboards.  There were lots of families there and cheap food and it was a ton of fun.

^^I was trying to capture Harrison's super excited face every time he sent a ball down, but of course he was too distracted by the family next to us and did it all without looking. Haha!^^

We finally got almost all of the boxes unpacked and extra stuff put into storage.  Flowers and a few small decorations really made the apartment feel like home today. We are finally feeling so much more settled.

Then Jesse's bike got stolen.

Among the Elephants

Tuesday, April 21, 2015

While Porter and I went to IKEA, Harrison and Daddy played at the North Carolina Zoo.  We had planned on spending the morning at IKEA getting a few things, and then realized it was twice as far away as I had thought (2.5 hours away in Charlotte).  We finally decided to drop off Jesse and Harrison at the Zoo, which was halfway to Charlotte, so they could play while I drove the rest of the way and did the shopping.  Although it was a LONG day with lots of shopping, this ended up being the best way to do IKEA and Harrison had tons of fun at the HUGE Zoo.  I made Jesse stop at these elephant statues for a photo since I had to miss out on the fun earlier.

Here are some photos that Jesse took with his phone at the zoo.
